BIOGRAPHIES
Owner and President, Charlie Colwell
Charlie started his career in the sound business by making sound, he was a bass player and the lead singer in his band right out of high school He traveled the country for 4 years on both sides of a mixing board and learned first hand what sounds good and what is entertaining. When a car accident destroyed all of the band’s gear and injured several members, he looked toward reproducing sound. Charlie holds two degrees, one in Sound Engineering and another in Radio Television and Film. His career includes working at Sugarhill recording studios making records and commercials, engineering communications and in-flight events for NASA, On –Air radio talent and commercial radio production as well as over twenty years experience in the Residential Systems Integration Business. His passion is great music, great movies and great sound (the toys are fun too!). He understands how to create the system our customer envisions. He knows how to ask the questions and then works his magic to reproduce your dream. His dedication to customer service is unparalleled and his motivation is getting the sound right for you. Charlie leads the design team, directs product selection, and supervises all aspects of the customer experience with Artistic Systems. “We aren't done until you are happy” he says to every customer.
Co-Owner & Business Manager, Brenda K. Colwell
Brenda Colwell is Co-Owner and Business Manager and yes, the wife of Artistic Systems’ President. Her background is includes an education in Accounting and Engineering. She has over 20 years on the business side of operations including Accounting, Administrative Management, Human Resources and Purchasing. She loves the “thump” and the “funk” of the 70’s and anything that she can shake her booty to. Her expertise is the business side of Artistic Systems… her passion is the music we make.
Reggie Knowles - Sales Manager
Reggie Knowles is our sales manager. He has over 25 years of experience in sales and management, but it is his passion for music and movies that serves as his foundation. Reggie attended The University of Texas in Austin. Reggie's exposure to the many diverse musical styles that are the Austin music scene helped form the roots of his professional career. While in Austin as a student, Reggie worked at a local audio/video store and played in various garage bands. In the mid 1980's, Reggie served as the A.S.C.A.P. representative and first hand witnessed the rise of Stevie Ray Vaughan. Reggie's love of all musical styles is contagious.
His professional desire is to provide the most realistic music and movie experiences possible with an emphasis on customer service. Customer service is not just meeting a specification. Customer service is listening carefully to each customer, building a working relationship, and not just meeting, but exceeding the expectations.
